Financial Assistance

Great Hearts Arlington is proud to serve our community in any way we can. While funds are limited, we are committed to providing as much assistance as possible with EduKits (school supplies), uniforms, and Classics to Keep. Families who qualify can also benefit from the federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program (FRL) to provide meals during the school day.

See below for more information about each program.

Financial Assistance for the 2023-2024 School Year

If you would like to apply for financial assistance for EduKits and uniforms, you will need to complete a Preliminary Financial Assistance Eligibility survey by Wednesday, May 31st, 2023.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE survey

After we have had time to review the application and determine your qualification, you will be contacted with the eligibility results in mid-June. Great Hearts bases eligibility for financial assistance on income levels equivalent to those that qualify families for the federal FRL program. This application only applies to EduKits and uniform vouchers. Due to the deadline we have for placing our school supply orders through EduKit, any applications received after May 31st, 2023 may not be eligible to receive assistance with EduKits.

Please note the Preliminary Financial Assistance Eligibility form does not qualify you for the federal FRL program. The official 2023-2024 FRL application will be available in summer (late July 2023). If you would like to apply for Free or Reduced Lunch program, you will need to complete that form separately.

Uniforms

Families who qualify for financial assistance are also eligible to receive vouchers (gift certificates) for use in purchasing school uniforms.  All vouchers are for Dennis Uniforms and are redeemable online or over the phone.

Only families who applied before the May 31st deadline will be eligible to receive vouchers, and only while supplies last.

If you have additional questions or concerns regarding uniform vouchers, please reach out to Charlotte.Garthune@greatheartstxschools.org

Classics to Keep

We highly encourage all families to purchase their own copies of our Classics to Keep so that our students can build their own library of literary classics and be able to return to the wisdom and joy contained within in years to come. Most can be acquired at low cost from used booksellers.

If this is not possible for your family, we will gladly provide your child with copies of the texts to borrow during the school year upon request. Please reach out to Charlotte.Garthune@greatheartstxschools.org for more information.

Financial Assistance for Meals

Free and reduced breakfast and lunch are available to all those who qualify. Eligibility is determined using the application for Free or Reduced Meals.

Returning students who qualified for free or reduced meals in the 2022-2023 school year will continue to receive those benefits through September 10, 2023. To continue receiving benefits after that date, families will need to fill out a new application through MyMealTime.com. That application usually becomes available over the summer. We will let you know when it does so that you can complete it at that time.

P-EBT Benefits Information

Some Texas families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals during School Year 2022-2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic will receive Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) food benefits. Information about this year’s P-EBT benefits, including eligibility requirements and benefit amounts, will be released in mid-April.

One requirement for P-EBT is that students must be certified as eligible for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at their Texas school during the 2022-2023 school year. Receiving free meals at school does not automatically qualify a child for P-EBT. You will also need to make sure to notify your Registrar regarding any COVID related absences, if you have not done so already.

Click here or below to apply for Free & Reduced Price Lunch if you have not since August 1st, 2022.
