Great Hearts is committed to an individualized approach to college counseling that focuses on finding the right fit for each student. The emphasis of the program is on helping students discover who they are as learners and emerging adults. Throughout their years at Great Hearts Arlington, our students learn to be comfortable in the worlds of both ideas and practicality, understanding the relationship between the two. This serves our students particularly well when selecting a college experience.

Consider Participating in a Summer Program

Plan ahead to make your summer productive! Breaks are always a great time to relax and take a break from challenging schoolwork, but it also gives you some down time to explore your interests and participate in organized activities such as:

  • Taking enrichment courses
  • Enrolling in summer camps or workshops (academic, co-curricular, or athletic)
  • Volunteering
  • Getting a job or internship

Many colleges offer summer programs and camps for high school students. These opportunities are a great way for students to explore interests and possible college majors, while also getting the experience of being on a college campus. Below are a few links for students to begin exploring opportunities; however, the opportunities are endless if you take time to search the web. Here’s a few that have applications that have recently opened or that will be opening up very soon. Please note some have deadlines that are approaching soon.
