At Great Hearts Arlington, we believe the holistic development of our scholars is vital to their growth as human beings. Therefore, our school sponsored athletic program provides an avenue for our scholars to grow physically while also living out the virtue they have cultivated in our hallways and classrooms.

The middle school athletic program has a few goals:

  • To develop fundamental skills
  • To cultivate virtue
  • To help scholar-athletes develop in competition
  • To participate in a culture of teamwork and service to one another
  • To have fun!

Whether your scholar views him or herself as an athlete or not, the middle school athletic program is for them as the skills and tools they learn in athletics will serve them for life.

Here are a few important details related to track this spring:

  • Practice will begin the week of 2/21, and the season will culminate at the end of April.
  • Practice will take place on campus, Monday-Thursday, from 3:45-5:00.
  • There is a fee of $180 for your scholar to participate (please let us know if you have any questions about this).
  • Currently, we are registered for four track meets (we may add or subtract 1). Details will be provided soon.
  • We are in the process of talking with a physician’s assistant about providing on campus physicals to our scholar-athletes for free on an upcoming Friday. More details to follow in the coming days.

If you would like for your scholar to participate, I have attached a link with information for how you can register him or her.
